Bloc Overview
This knowledge bloc introduces educators to the potential of large language models in the classroom. Participants will learn how to harness these powerful tools to generate innovative ideas for classroom activities and seamlessly integrate creative thinking skills into their practice.
The bloc is primarily designed for educators still learning about generative AI and those who want to explore different ways to use and evaluate these tools with specific support and instruction.

- Use a chatbot to test your knowledge of creative thinking skills
- Design a learning activity using a LLM
- Improve an existing learning assignment by integrating a creative thinking skill
- Devise a system for staying up-to-date with emerging trends in generative AI and creativity

In this bloc you will:
- Evaluate at least two different Large Language Models (LLMs) and identify a preferred LLM
- Consider the limitations of the chatbot capabilities when using a preferred LLM as a tool for teaching and learning
- Design a lesson plan or learning activity using a preferred LLM
- Have a preferred LLM read an existing lesson plan or learning activity and have it propose suggestions to improve it
- Apply future thinking to imagine how LLMs might influence learning in the future
This course will require Internet connection, a Google account, and access to at least one large language model platforms.*
*the first byte in this knowledge pod will prompt you to select two large language models. Most last language models will require that you create an account using a preferred email address. You can complete this assignment with one large language model platform if your access to others is blocked by your school's administration.
